The Erasmus Entrepreneurship Contest 2012 has been organised by the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) Support Office in order to reward entrepreneurs and Intermediary Organisations for their commitment to and participation in the Programme. On this occasion, the European Commission is pleased to welcome the winners of the Contest, a High-level Panel and other key stakeholders to celebrate the success of the Programme with a dedicated Award Ceremony on 11th October 2012 in Brussels (please see the agenda below).

On the eve of the upcoming SME Week from 15 to 21 October, the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Programme has reached an important milestone: the Programme has supported more than 2600 entrepreneurs as more than 1300 exchanges between new and established entrepreneurs have been organised to date.

This call for proposals aims to help new entrepreneurs in Europe to enrich their experiences and to learn and network with experienced entrepreneurs. New entrepreneurs will spend some time in enterprises run by experienced entrepreneurs in other EU Member States and in other countries participating in the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme.

The overall objective of the Programme is to enhance the entrepreneurship, internationalisation and competitiveness of potential start-up entrepreneurs and of those running newly established micro and small enterprises in the EU and CIP participating countries

The European Commission has published a call for proposals for ERASMUS for young entrepreneurs.
This call aims to help new EU entrepreneurs enrich their experiences, learning and networking by spending periods with experienced entrepreneurs in their enterprises in other EU Member States.
The objectives of the preparatory action are to enhance the entrepreneurship, internationalisation and competitiveness of potential start-up entrepreneurs and newly established micro and small enterprises in the EU.
Specifically, the Commission's specific objectives are to:
- provide on-the-job-training for new entrepreneurs in small and medium-sized enterprises elsewhere in the EU in order to facilitate a successful start-up and development of their business ideas;
- foster sharing of experience and information between entrepreneurs on the obstacles and challenges of starting up and developing their businesses;
- enhance market access and identification of potential partners for new and established businesses in other EU countries;
- support networking between entrepreneurs from different Member States by building on knowledge and experience from other European countries.
The activity targets people intending to set up a business and recently established entrepreneurs.
