It focused on Greek, Latin, Slavish, Turkish, Persian, Georgian, Armenian, Jewish cultures... which inhabited and shaped it. To-day, the territories of these regions are fragmented but in the past they were unified by imperial powers, the Ottoman empire being the last one. They preserved numerous common features. The importance of the space for the European Union is obvious.

The Foreign Special Editions are not translations of the Basic Journal, they include articles on various subjects in the languages mentioned above.
